Turning goblets into discount dollars???

Can someone please explain how this is done since there is NOT ONE WORD OF EXPLANATION on the app? I have tens of each goblet but the DD button is always grated out. I have plenty of coin, plenty of DD, plenty of prizes and am on level 140. If you can help, I would really appreciate it!
